I posted the YouTube video on him requesting to have sex with the 9 year old earlier today and quickly took it down realizing it was inappropriate for this site. A quick search on YouTube will pull it up for you. It made the national and international news.

Back during that time period, Swaggart did an interview where he claimed, when called out on it, that he only wanted to meet the 9 year old to bring her to God, not to do the horrible stuff he asked to do. The interviewer made him look like an evil lying pervert, which was incredibly easy to do, since he was.

In some ways, The Righteous Gemstones was closer to a documentary on most televangelists than a fictional comedy. I don't know of any who love God and the people more than themselves, fame and money.

I heard that Jimmy passed yesterday. I know that he’s going to be remembered more for the scandal than his ministry. Jimmy could flat out preach.. and he was a gifted musician like his cousins Mickey gilly and Jerry Lee. I sure hope jimmy is in the kingdom… ALL of us fall short of the glory of GOD. Even a shepherd boy, who became the greatest king of Israel messed up.
If that swindler could make it in, I reckon anybody can.

I can honestly say that I never watched him when he was on TV. I was more interested in Chuck Swindoll, Hal Lindsay, and Billy Graham. But, I still stand on the fact that how he will be spending eternity is God's problem.
