What are your go to Trail Cameras? Looking for one that doesn’t have a visible light when taking videos at night and spooking animals.

Buddy has cell cams they get iffy in rough country where the chips still going to work in remote thick areas. Seen 2 bulls walk the edge of a wallow across from a cell cam we had up never got any pics. No telling how many pics we didn’t get over the 2 years of hunting in the national Forest.

I run 30 spypoint cell cams. They are cheap, I’ve found them for $50 apiece on sale multiple times. The picture quality isn’t great compared to a more expensive brand like tactacam. The batteries last a long time if they are place somewhere with decent cell service. Each camera gets 100 free photos a month and then it’s $5-250, $10-100 or $15 for unlimited, that’s per camera. I don’t pay a subscription on any of mine. If you place them on the trails leading to say a salt lick, you get the pic you need without getting 50 pics of an animal loafing around at a salt lick or bait pile. I seldom go over 100 pics in a month as long as you place the camera well where the sun doesn’t hit it directly or there isn’t any leaves blowing around directly in front of it. You can also control them remotely through the app that you have to use to receive pics so you can shut them off or increase the time delay in a windstorm or something. You can even put them on a schedule so they only transmit pics during certain hours. I have several of mine turned off for a few hours each day when the sun sets them off so I don’t waste any pictures. The don’t have a visible light but there is a subtle red glow of the infrared LEDs, I don’t think it disturbs animals though.

A lot of people say the spypoints aren’t reliable but I walk by mine all the time to test them and I’ve never had them not send a picture, usually within 3-5 minutes at most. I attached a few pics so you can see the difference in photo quality.

If you have internet service. The Blink cameras work very well as trail cameras. They are made to be home security cameras. I have 8 of the cameras and use them both as trail cameras and security cameras. I can look through them on my cell phone, tablet, or tv at any time and view the videos they capture. They are tiny and take great footage. They have excellent night vision. I can zoom in and see fine detail. I can talk through them too. They have good audio. I can literally see through them, or look at what they captured, anywhere with phone service.
