I've never dressed up as an animal. I did used to be active in the Society for Creative Anachronism and got paid to teach and call dances in the 1820's groups like K Snow attends. 1820s dances are basically English Country dances and similar to square dances.
I was like an SCA god. I was smarter than almost all the people in it, who pride themselves on being smart. I am very knowledgeable. I am stronger than almost everyone. I am funny, not bad looking, not at all shy, confident and obviously not overly modest. I ran and taught dance. Women love dancing and when you are in charge of a ball with a four or five hundred people attending, women get the hots for you. I did very well with the nerdy ladies, some of whom were quite beautiful and all of which were fun. I like smart women. Stupid women, even if beautiful, are no good for a long term relationship. Beauty fades. Intellect and character last.
Keith I guess if people can pretend they are animals we'll let u slide on this one too Keith but like the furry thing no one is believing it

Got no issues with anyone exercising their right of freedom. Some furbies, migets, and a cooler sounds like a great weekend. Don't forget the maple syrup Lol, yep!
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Furbies were a toy that came out in the late nineties, that "learned" to speak by recording conversation they heard and playing it back mixed with gibberish, when set off by motion. My girlfriend at the time had a much younger sister, around 15, who had a furbie. I tried to talk my girlfriend into teaching the furbie to say scary stuff like "I'm going to eat you.", "I'm going to steal your soul." and "I'm going to murder you in your sleep.". I thought it would be funny and still think so.
Furries are the people who dress up like and act like animals.
Keith
The furries in the video, who weren't in costume, were all unattractive people and not physically fit. Because of their appearance, they probably find it hard to socialize, like normal people. Being in costume makes it easier to interact socially, because people aren't put off by their appearance and much more importantly they aren't self conscious about their appearance.
As long as innocent people, such as children, aren't harmed by their activities, which in general seems to be the case, there's nothing wrong with what they are doing. It's just weird to most of us.
It would be better for them if they just came to the realization, that when interacting with others, there are much more important traits than physical appearance, such as intellect and character.

You don't humor deviancy of any type. Get with the program or get gone. And if you have a problem with that then gone can be arranged for you. Now thats funny. And scary
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

They call the Pittsburgh event Anthrocon. Today was the furry parade on Penn Avenue. Must be awful hot in those furry suits. Gonna hit 90 today.
Not my cup of tea, but they’re not bothering me or anyone else I know. As society losses it way morally and in its values more and more it affects everyone. The most direct way in this country right now is in my money being spend on welfare for those who aren't willing to take care of themselves. Apathy is one of the final steps in the fall of a civilization. In this country we have been conditioned to forget the role morals and values play in the strength of a society

Not my cup of tea, but they’re not bothering me or anyone else I know. Yup. It's kinda strange, but don't see how it violates anyone's rights.
