Make sure the ebike is compatible with mounting a trailer hitch & can handle towing that ebike trailer.

But, unless the trapline is on decent roads/farm lanes, the e-bike is a poor choice for a trapline vehicle. It'll really suck on a rainy day.

I'd take that $2000 to $7000 and buy a SxS.

There was a recent topic.
Are these and scooters and sxs
Pa-DOT legal?

I see all types of stuff on the roads.
When I was a punk, the cops were
poised to pounce on such lol.

The fat tire bikes are heavy and taller than most folks think they might be, the nut bar could be a problem and taking off with no motor help could be challenging unless you have total balance and control. Try before you buy for fit and function don’t shy away from a 20” or girls model if it’s more practical for your use.

Not exactly true, but hub drives do have better reviews for rough terrain.

do they? i've never seen such a review. hub drive cant use the gearing on a bike and the balance isnt as good because all the weight on the drive is on the front or rear wheels instead of the middle like the mid drives

Oops! I meant to type that the mid-drives had better reviews on rough terrain.

But, there are a lot of hub drives used off road with few problems.

He might look at the e motorcycles. I tried a couple of them that a friends brother-in-laws have. Them things are snappy, with lots of power! Personally I think I would go with the smaller one, because I'm no motocross rider and I would actually prefer less power and not quite so snappy on rough terrain, plus it is as light or lighter than a little 80 if you need to move it around or over something like a big log by hand. The larger one I wanted to see what kind of power it had, so I cracked it wide open from a stop on pretty level ground (slight uphill), it came over backwards on me! More power than I need on trails, when the little one has the power to climb anything that you physically can.

They are more spendy though, and none of the two wheelers are that handy to pack too much gear in on or catches out.

My buddy uses a Bakcou Mule with a trailer. He hauls a bunch of weight on that thing. Wolf gear, deer, elk, you name it.

I’m imagining 4 coons 3 rats and fox with me on a bicycle and it seems like a great commercial for a utv.

Not the same use on Forest Service lands not allowed or won’t fit where the EBike can and are allowed to go. Baskets or tow behind trailers can haul more than what you can fit on just a bike. They all have their own use depending on need and rules of the area you’re in.
