Only knew him as Trapper Rodgers. Local fur buyer back in the 80's that gave me tips to catch the elusive coon everyone was after and pointers on handling fur.

Carman, Milligan, Ogorman. Set my first traps in 74 but I was not realy introduced to the world of trapping until
Around the late 70s. The Nationals was in Mason City IA and I picked up some trapping books.

Also, Coop and Reddawg are top notch trappers locally.

I had a bunch of Hawbakers literature growing up, and really looked up to him. The first videos a had stared Jerry Herbst, Bob Gilsvik, and Tom Miranda, and I wanted to be just like them when I was a teenager.

I don't know as I wanted to be like anyone of them, but I sure do appreciate the ones who are kind enough to share their knowledge without all the bravado. I'm hesitant to name these great modest men for fear of leaving anyone out, but many have been mentioned already. I'll add a few, Gerald Schmitt, Bob Jameson and Asa Lennon, but there are a lot more.
