Ya'll Albertans are an odd, but cool bunch of folk. Got some buddies in that neck of the woods and if they didn't talk so funny, I'd swear they were Texan. Dang impressive. I like it!

I would like to see someone speed skin a north east pa coyote. Sometimes my winch has a hard time pulling the hide down. Anyone know if there’s a difference in the hide?

Looks very well organized! The games are outstanding! Organizers and volunteers deserve a round of applause.

For the most part those big eastern coyotes are half wolf I think-ya they would certainly be tougher to do quickly.

It was a pretty cool event, we even had our Minister of environment (big politician) here and he skinned a 3 minute beaver. Pretty cool to think he can back up what he says and isn't just hot air.

The ATA is very strong. Presidents wife was a high ranking judge in Alberta and the Natural Resources Minister being the trappers he is, they can really get things done. The Alberta Professional Outfitter Society donating $120000 to the association, plus a lot of young hardcore trappers in attendance actively involved. I asked one of the Conservation officers that were there if they were just helping out. They were volunteering and running the cook shack for the pancake breakfast, cleaning up, participating in the bean buster all while technically on duty. Our provincial government would never pay the weekend wages & rooms for the 8 or so officers that came out.
You got it pretty dam good there Smokey! Every type of landscape imaginable hunting, fishing and anything outdoors related, 2 hockey teams, 2 football teams……and a strong trappers association. Nice to finally meet you Smokey!

Yes we are very fortunate with the strength of our politicians and relationship to our conservation officers. Politics is always a roller coaster but compared to other jurisdictions we are extremely lucky. We are all praying minister Lowen stays in his position, dispute all the opposition. It was great meeting you, I'm sure it won't be the last time!
