They have adapted very well to it. Lots of them running up and down the beach. Occasionally some will disappear though.

I worked for the city down there for 26 years and they were there then .At the transfer station they also had plenty of coons < large ones > Trapped a few in my days .

What nobody talks about is the otter population in the back bays. They have taken over the storm drains and all the canals, living under the condos built on pilings. Have trapped otters for 50 yrs in Md and the numbers there are hard to believe.
