I have a Air Venturi Avenger 22 cal. Mostly used for pigeons and starlings but it has a few dozen coon and a pair of coyotes under its belt. I got mine with the "eco" tune for maximum shot count and less penetration for inside barns and buildings at night. I put a cheap moderator on it and it works well with skunks also. It is more accurate than I am and is not crazy expensive. I bought a dozen extra 10 shot mags and on a full charge, I will get 70 - 80 good shots before it starts falling off. I also bought a refurbished Rov Air compressor and have no complaints. If I get another, it will probably be the same Air Venturi but in the bull pup model. There are some crazy nice and expensive options out there.
Airport trapper and wolfdog are more versed and hopefully will chime in.

Shot RAW ( Rapid Air Works ) HM 1000X with moderator, topped with Sig 3x18x44 FP scope, 22 cal with 23.39 gr pellets, MV 986 fps, have shot several brand that other people owned FX, Umarex, Hatsan,Gamo, Air Force Texan, the RAW, is a tack driver. It's American made in Texas. 50 yd., zero, with several hole in hole. 1/4 imch groups, 100 yds, 1 '' groups, shooting on bench with front bipod, and rear bags. Headed to Flordia, in Sept. to work on some lizards. There not cheap but, after shooting other brands, bought RAW. Did quite bit of research, and decided buy once, get good 1. If I could figure out how to post pics would show it off. Excellent on squirrels, varmits raiding garden, got 2 groundhogs , 1 head shot 2nd behind front leg went 10/15 yds went belly up. Worked the sparrows, over trying to run Bluebirds, out my Bluebird boxes, male sparrows land on top of box being bully, 20/25yd shot feathers floating in the air Been to couple PCP, competion matches watching the real shooters, they told me RAW, is excellent rifle, they highly stressed good pellets . I shot JSB match Diablo exact jumbo pellets,. Tried 300 rds of AEA 25.3 gr. Center Punch didn't perform like JSB pellets, weren't consist Love this PCP rifle . Shot at least 25/ 50 pellets aday at my 50/ 75/ yd range in my back yard . Had wood laminaded stock when bought, got knocked off my shooting bench stock broke in fore arm, replaced it with there aluminum stock. Having wooden stock fixed Fill mine with Air Venturi. 4500 compressor average 70/80 shots

I have an air venturi avenger in .22 in a chassis and a Benjamin marauder. The avenger is insanely accurate.

10 shots at 50 yards. 21gr H&N Barracuda pellets , 800fps

From squirrel to raccoons, it's been an awesome gun.

The marauder is mainly an indoor pigeon gun for the airport as it's super quiet and not as powerful.
If i was buying a new pcp I would probably go avenge-x.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

Go with a .22cal get a compressor if you can, I run a hand pump and it's good exercise and not bad as long as I repump every 30shots or so...after that it's a little rough if your cardio ain't right lol !

But budget PCP's have come a long way and it's not hard to find a decent one in some flavor or another. Id recommend buying from a place the offers leak testing and the like , it's worth the cash. O and your PCP will leak eventually

If you buy one, buy a scuba tank and fill adapter for quick refills.
