The 4 door box traps with tops. Many will say that crabs shy away from closed top traps. I say they're as smart as insects.ive also had a lot of luck with the 3 door pyramid traps and those can stack flat which saves a lot of space.

Yup

Also, look into Trot lines for crabs. If you set your boat up for it, a trot line works great.

Be sure to read the Maryland crabbing regulations as they can be confusing at first.

Put in on the Caroline County side of the choptank, boat ramp permit is a lot cheaper than the Talbot County side.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Those traps work, but just using a baited handline and a scap net catches a lot of crabs, use as many lines as you want...

An old timer here would set a short string of folding traps on bouys and run them from his boat, while he was waiting to make a run he would anchor and use a couple hand lines...he caught as many or more on the lines than the traps....

Rings work good. Bait em with bull lips soaked in menhaden oil. Very easy to run, and are really productive

Have you found anything that lasts longer ?! They catch a mess of crabs. When crabbings over, put em back in a tub with more fish oil. They’ll keep on catching

When eel got $$$, went to.lips.
Then necks.
Refusing to go.to.clams, but then, don't crab much anymore

I’ve always used chicken necks. It’s worked for me.

man i cant wait till i can get to the east coast and try to catch crabs and lobster. wife and i will be moving to Maine in about 10 years but were going to start taking vacations up there first to find an area we like. we love the anything outdoors we can do and catch or kill good eats. wife is an amazing cook. made shrimp, crawfish, and sausage fettuccini alfredo last night was great. would love to trap crabs as well.

Well, not many, or any, blue crabs in Maine, but you got lobster, there's crabs but the ocean type, Atlantic rock,(small) and Jonahs, (large)
Pretty sure you can get a recreational license with a pot limit
