The jews were God's chosen people. But they rejected their messiah.

Under the old testament ("first covenant" in this passage), God's chosen people were born into their relationship with God, even though they did not know him at birth. They were raised being told "Know the Lord" because they became God's chosen people at birth, before they knew Him.

That situation is over now. From v13, the new covenant (a.k.a. new testament / the gospel) replaced it. The old covenant relationship is gone now.

Now, people become Christians when they are baptized into their relationship with God. No one is in this relationship with God who doesn't already know Him, which is why v11 says "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me".

The book of Hebrews is directed to the Hebrew (Jewish) people and the book can be summarized as: Jesus is your messiah, you're not getting another one. Going forward, He's your opportunity for salvation.

I may be totally wrong, but I believe things changed when Christ took his last breath. At that moment the veil of the Temple ripped from top to bottom signifying there was a new way to ascend to heaven. In the temple at Jerusalem there was a large veil that separated the main area from the Holy of Holies. Only purified Jewish priests were allowed back there. The Jews would also sacrifice animals by the thousands in an attempt to appease God for redemption of their sins. The temple and the way the Jews were starting to run things were an abomination to God. Unclean and unworthy animals were being sold for sacrifice. Corruption, theivery, and hypocrisy were running rampant in the upper eschilons of the Jewish faith system. There needed to be a change.

When Jesus drew his last breath when all the weight of the sin of the world was placed on his shoulders, that veil ripped. There is now a new way, different from the ways of the Jews of the old testament. This new way was that God sacrificed his son for us, there was no longer a need to sacrifice animals and to try and please God by the old ways of the Jews. The new way to get to heaven was now to accept God's gift of his sacrifical son and to believe in him. Jesus was a threat to the Jews who held the power, as through him there was no longer going to be a need for sacrifice, offerings, etc as a way to get to heaven and with that their control over the people was going to be challenged.

Jews have been kicked out of most countries at some time or another and they were booted as God's chosen people, why does no one want the Jews?

Donner, historically its because they always seem to form a country within a country and follow their own rules and not the country's they reside in which leads to division. They seem to be incapable of assimilation within a country; at least that seems the case for the Ashkenazi Jews; not so much the Sephardic Jews (there is a big difference)....same as today, even though they have their own country to go to since 1948.

That being said, God often punished the Jews for turning their backs on him (making them wander in the desert for 40 days, making them lose battles, etc). He Jews currently have their backs turned towards God by rejecting Christ. Some might say that the current problems they are having in the middle east (being hated and constantly attacked by their enemies) are Gods punishment on them for their rejection of Christ.

Many denominations believe in the premillennial doctrine. This comes from (in my opinion, a misinterpretation of) the book of Revelation—specifically, the belief that when Jesus returns, He will reign on earth as King for 1,000 years. They also believe that we must be allied with Israel at this time, so they unconditionally support Israel.

I believe this stems from a misinterpretation of what Revelation says. The modern nation of Israel is a recent political creation; it is not the Israel spoken of in Scripture. Furthermore, even if they were correct, it's foolish to think God needs our help to fulfill His prophecies. Abraham thought that once (Genesis 16), and God didn’t make use of his assistance.
