Fall time. Even dead winter. Caught 10 fish for over 100 pounds last February. Also June is a very good time. Not the most enjoyable but catching fish is hot. Sometimes over 200 pounds by myself.
I prefer mid to late November, February, and or April, may, June.

Get a guide local to area and wear a back brace. 50 pounder not uncommon. I don't keep anything over 20 pounds. Plenty of 10-20 pounders.
Good luck.

Yes sir, phenomenal lake. I once caught over 460 pounds of bluecats by myself in two days. I do cpr on anything over 20 pounds. Still managed to put 105 pounds of fillets in the freezer.. Occasionally I will fish with a guide / friend from there. His personal best is a 92 pound blue. We kept it in a large bait tank at camp for two days to regain her strength and then released.
I hope one day our dnr makes keeping anything over 20 restricted. Plenty of 10 -20 pound fish for eating. Anything over 20 here according to biologist is sexually mature. So, don't want to kill off breeders and hurt future generations.
I practice cpr. CATCH PHOTOGRAPH RELEASE. Live to fight another day.

Cotton, I prefer to fish from 3pm to 10pm. Less boat traffic and cooler temps. Not all guides will. Most prefer sun up to 1pm or so.
Most charge 350 -400 per day. Some provide cleaning, others don't. I have a local who will do mine for $1 per pound of fillets. Not a bad deal.

When you think your going? I might do a trip this November.
