Bass1 OP trapper B Joined: Jan 2009 Tug Hills, NY	I was thinking about Curt Gowdy and "The American Sportsman" tv show. It had a positive influence one the way people viewed hunting back in the '60s and '70s. I was wondering if we would ever see a program like this on prime time tv again. It would be nice.

Not a sportsman show, but didn't Lorne Greene narrate Nature or some other wildlife show years ago? EdP trapper E Joined: Mar 2012 meadowview, Virginia	I grew up in a family in which no one hunted or fished. My dad had duck hunted but stopped when he got married and never took it up again. The American Sportsman got me interested in hunting and fishing.

poconobear trapper P Joined: Jan 2011 pa	In addition to Curt Gowdy and The American Sportsman, how about Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins. I’m the only hunter in my family and these two shows got me interested. Can’t imagine seeing a show like that on tv anymore

But it gave me the idea to tie bottle rockets to a sheet and try to shoot it over baited black birds! Didn’t go as well for me as it did on Wild Kingdom, especially when my mom found the sheet. www.rtssetter.com
