I am sharing the outcome of our Coyote and Beaver speed skinning events - at the ATA (Alberta Trappers Assoc.) Rendezvous earlier this month.

The Coyotes are frozen, not warm. Skinning times are ranked by points, First place 60, 2nd 55 etc. Then if there is damage from skinning, -5 for cuts over 1" and -2 for cuts under 1"
Our old record of 1:36 held for last 3 years, but this summer was blown out of the water! We had 10 contestants, with first "heat" of 5 having two different trappers break the record with a 1;28 and 1:19 skinning times!
The winning and new record time of 1:19 had ZERO damage.
The first 2 heats of 10 Skinners, then top 6, then a skin off of the top 3.
There should be some videos up on YouTube, check out "Northern Trapper" site for starters.

The men's Beaver had the fastest time for this year at 2:10 (rough skin) - so the historical record of 1:54 stands
Women's Beaver at 4:54

It didnt take too long to skin well over 40 Coyotes/and Beavers for the back to back events....
