I saw the thread on here talking about accidentally catching fox in dps,
And I wondered if anyone has ever actively targeted fox with dog proofs?
If so, do you attempt to camouflage it or just whack it in the ground?
And what kind of attractant would be used?

I think it would be a waste of time.

Ethan, are you wanting to use DPs because footholds aren't a legal option for you in Australia?

You'll be checking mostly empty DPs, except for the rare fox that sticks his foot in that tube.

I've been using over a 100 DPs annually for more than a decade and have caught 2 grey foxes.

No, I can use rubber jaw footholds in this state and It is legal to use offset laminate traps in others.
I was just curious about using dps

I suppose using the push/pull type would be a better option for their little paws. They’re curious buggers, giver a shot.

This^^^. A very unrealist expectation! For goodnessakes, the traps are called “dog-proof” meaning, dogs are canines and fox are considered canines!! Why would you think to use a trap that is actually designed NOT to catch canines!! WTH!

Stick with the rubber jawed foot holds unless this is just a personal want to do for you.

I caught a red fox in a push/pull triggered DP once. Cat food for bait. I wouldn't dream of trying to do it on purpose.
I have had reds pee on my DPs before.
