I order a lot of books, a few from Amazon but mostly from ABE Books. It's mostly third-party vendors that are doing the selling and shipping and they're using media mail which is probably the most economical form of shipping. It's also the slowest.

It takes an average of three weeks to receive books shipped domestically, longer for international shipments.

Eh...wot?

Amazon lies so much on their shipping progress they can go from in transit to not shipped yet pretty quickly. LOL
