years ago I asked my wife if she would sit in the yard in the evenings with me if I got us a stock tank to soak in and cool off .

she said no so I never got one.

well now that I am sitting alone any way , I got a stock tank

even better no cost , the farm only uses the 300s in the winter so I can clean out a 300 and bring it home and cool off in the evenings drinking beer and listening to CCR and such.

I used to clean pools in high school , don't really like cleaning pools and messing with the chemicals all the time, so the ability to drain , pressure wash and fill as needed is my speed.


tonight it gets an upgrade , with a beer holder then I think it is complete.

Nice. I have thought about doing the same thing.

Been thinking about getting one to use for ice baths for workout recovery.

A cool tub, instead of a hot tub!,, often thought of it....

the farmers wife and daughter did a mini Tri Sunday , they are both runners one former college runner and one current national level college runner.

they keep a 100 gallon stock tank on the back deck to do ice with when they finish runs , they were squeezed into it when they got back from the Tri so he is thinking of upgrading to one of the 300s

depends how cozy you want to get , easy for two to stretch way out.
but if you were friendly with the your other stock tankers you could do up to 6 and 3-4 fairly easy without having to get to friendly.

I took the opportunity to flush my hot water heater to fill the tank , the good , it was nice and warm , the bad a LOT of iron , that settled out by morning and I used my bilge pump to suck it out

if the wife isn't going to join you a 100 would do , a 150 would be a bit nicer if you want lots of room and possibly company the 300 is nice.

This might be a better option for a cold plunge

I like easy maintenance , and one of those would work fine.

The first thought I had was the scene in Yellowstone where Beth was relaxing in the tank with her chilled bottle of wine.

If those come in plastic rather than metal, I'd prefer that material .

no need for upgrades besides the beer holder unless company wants to stop over then I might need a second beer holder.

that was the if I am going to sit alone I might as well do it in the free to me stock tank that I won't need come cold weather and the farm only uses in cold weather as the well at the creek pasture is an above ground pump and pressure tank.

so for the winter all water goes in the 900 gallon water wagon behind the tractor the mile and a half to the creek pasture. to fill the multiple 300s every day after breaking the ice

it was only 19 days ago and I only posted here once about it , so no worries and thankyou.

I have been keeping busy the stock tank is just one way , have friends coming over for a fish fry tonight.

got three beer holders now
and a phone holder so it is easy to change the music.

all good now , ready for the heat this week



the double beer holder came on an old boat I had bought. found it in the garage
the other one was from my wife's wheel chair hardly used I donated the wheel chair to the Kelch Aviation museum here in Green county , so if you are in the area and want to take someone who doesn't get around so well any more to see the old planes , cars, and motorcycles the museum is free will donation and they have a wheelchair you can borrow. a great little museum.

I think I'd rotate that phone holder a little farther from the water....
