We lost a beloved friend of mine that I loved and shared so many memories with her family for a lot of years and I was asked by the family to share this for those that may have know the Scalf family and Anna Marie !
Such a sad, sad loss and breaks my heart !

For me one of the best parts of attending a NTA Western was getting to see George and Anna and family for a visit at my booth or theirs .

For a Christmas gift I had worked a Hank Williams The concert and received a couple guitar picks and sent them to Anna Marie in a Christmas card which she greatly enjoyed .

Rest in peace Anna Marie and George , my heart felt condolences go out to the family and close friends ! I look forward to all of us sharing a table at another Western NTA banquet in the sky .

A great lady for certain and George as well. Spent time with both at NTA conventions. She even attended after George passed away. NTA was family to both.

I am checking back in and have the same sentiments as you all that responded .
I don’t get on here enough but I have good intentions. When we all of us, that have been around for a bit and have a big trapping family with bonds made loose someone it sure hits home how life is just to short .

I have some stories about her both good and bad. This is not the time to tell the bad ones, but she could be incredibly stubborn. She was a huge support to trappers in Iowa and nationally. The Iowa Trapper's Assn was run tight as a ship when she was involved. Both her and George were huge assets to trapping in their time.

Not many people devoted more time to trapping as a sport, as outdoor therapy, OR as an occupation (for Dirt) than Anna Marie, with the possible exception of you Cindy. She will be missed by many!!

Oh no ! We used to talk regularly ! Dang it.

Knew Anna and her family for roughly 40 years, got a bday card from her EVERY YEAR even last fall! She NEVER forgot the date. I don't think she ever heard of hank williams jr till me and after that her and her daughter would travel all over to see him in concert, even came down here several years in a row and had me chauffer them around and of course take me to the concert with them since they 'needed' a driver. YES she had her ways and we butted heads through the years but there was always respect.

Her and George did more behind the scenes stuff and spent more money out of their own pockets to help trappers than about anyone I know, did for many decade's! Don't be surprised to see her win something else on the cash calander's as I don't know how many she bought each year then laughed at me for winning all the time when id only bought ONE, lol.

Too many miles and years of story's to tell here but there won't be another like her! Rest easy Anna your work here is done.
