The wife and I are trying to plan whatever summer trip we might want to do next year. We typically try to attempt to hit at least one trapping convention/rendezvous. Thought maybe we'd try and hit some other state if we didn't go to either national convention, all depends on what week I can get off work. So in you folks opinions, who puts on the best show? Curious for anybody's opinion and why they think it. Perhaps it's the area, the kids activities, the demos, or the overall turnout. Anyway, I'd sure appreciate your thoughts.

How late is your summer trip?

Talked to a guy from Quebec at the NTA convention and he said PA put on a good one... and he had been to a lot.

Don't overlook the Iowa Trappers Association Conventions.

This year our convention will be held in NW Iowa in Cherokee, IA, on September 5th & 6th.

And next year for the 2026 convention, we will be in the northeast part of the state in Charles City, on September 11th & 12th.

PA is always a good one to attend. Kids activities, demos, over all turnout seems to always be good no matter what part of the state it’s being held in. Haven’t ran into a trapper yet who has said they were disappointed in one.

The WTA has a good convention. We are now located in Antigo September 5th and 6th. Even with over a decade of lower fur prices we have over 1,000 attendees and several dozen vendors and tailgaters.

Central Indiana FTA Chapter 7B holds one at Hoosier Trapline Supply and it’s a very nice gathering. 2 day event this year !

Saw Sierra Ferrell perform live there. Try and top that 1/2 time entertainment !

PA is the largest state convention I've been to, and I've been to quite a few.

Your home state puts on a heck of a show.

Thank you guys. Shakeyjake, I agree, we usually have a good show. I'm hoping that the FTA being in Spencer doesn't lower attendance at the MN convention. Seems like when we have a national close to us that we have fewer people show up.

Pennsylvania is second to none.

Minnesota has a good one. The state is full of trappers and a lot of them show up. I am going and my wife is coming along. We will be tailgating at least on day selling traps and her trapping related art.

I'll be sure to check that out. I'm curious to see her art, and always looking for traps. Think you'll be set up Friday?
