Guys, are armadillo attracted to water or hang around it?
We are starting to see some of these armored possums here in my neck of the woods,, the ones that I’ve seen whacked on the road is really close to bridges.

they follow the waterways, if they cross a creek or river, they walk on the bottom I do believe. many drown because they dont know far across.

They can swim....but prefer not to.

They work their way along waterways....root up to bridges and attempt to cross....and get ran over...

They also have the same capability to carry and transmit leprosy as humans do.

Blast every one I see

Have not heard any ridiculous claims on what they eat like I have about possums eating ticks

Here's what I know about them..they tend to be active after a rain. I've seen a bunch late evenings or at night. I've heard they will eat fire ants but unsure about that. It's humorous to shoot one because they will do some powerful flopping sometimes,
Something interesting..they always have a litter of 4 young and they are always all males or all females.

I caught 17 of them rascals in my backyard last spring, summer through early October. There is a pond down behind the house.
