Any arborist, saddle hunters , linen ect on here ? If so where do y'all get your climbing rope? Not too keen on being 15' in a tree tree with just some Chinese mabye it's good maybe it's not climber rope hong me up. Figured I'd ask because all this new hunting stuff has a lot of crap priced out though the roof and if fads have though me anything.... usually there's something just as good or better the pros use that way less lol.... Marketing and all that. Like how they sell those little blocks of "deer salt " for $5 a lbs but you can get a 10bls cow mineral lick for like $8 and it's literally the same thing
.... Sorry rambling.... Climbing rope, where to buy and what I'm only 175lbs on a bad day lol

REI, or a local climbing gear shop.
You want an 11.5m or a 12mm Kernmantle, single rope, 9mm is considered a double rope, meaning you need to use it doubled up. They will have what's called "Gold Line", which is a hard lay twisted rope that will do you great service. A lot cheaper, but it's very stiff and kinda hard to maneuver around with. You want a climbing harness to wear, tied into it, with locking carabiners. There are a lot of different knots for climbing rope, designed for max strength, and ease of tying/untying., you'll want to learn about these.
ALSO, Very important: You need somebody to belay the rope from the ground that knows what they are doing.
If interested: I have some lightly used Gold line from my climbing instructor days I could part with.

Dont look at saddiehunting sites or you'll have a conniption.

Assuming Wolfie is talking about getting into saddle.hunting. 12mm is overkill if you look at what most of us saddle hunters are climbing on. For DRT systems predator rope is what most climb on. I've been using 8.5mm for SRRT and two tether climbing. I have went back to 11mm teuffelberger for SRT and grigri+ as the 8.5 is a bit tougher to climb on using a sterling f4.

Hunting we don't have belayers.

REI sells everything you need but they are far from 2A friendly.

A few years back they quit selling hiking and back packing equipment as well as tents / camping gear from and Mgfr who also produced anything firearm or hunting related.

Tree stuff or sherill tree. It's not cheap, bit over a $1 a foot. You could probably call arborist supply shops and ask about a rope that got cut short or damaged in the middle
