Has anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Slim Petersons Predator trapping Problems and Solutions volumes 1-4 are good beyond the basics books.

Yes Sir It Is !

You might give him a quick shout to verify the cost before you send it his way.

I posted that back in 2019.

I will call him as well and post it up here as soon as I find out.

What is the main theme for each volume? Time of year?

Each volume is different and goes into details about where, how, why of predator sets & locations. As Slim learned more over the years, he kept writing.

Very good info in these books.

Those Slim Peterson books are ones I hadn't heard of. I've read James Lucero's and a couple others whose names escape me at the moment until I get home and look at them. One was by an eastern Washington guy. Most of them are written by guys in either the southwest or the northern plains country. Not a lot on trapping timbered snow country like I have or I think you are dealing with Shakey.

Everything is different to me also due to living on the coast of NC. Not a lot of real dirt except on the mainland areas we have a LOT of sand and salt water marshes and not that many coyotes compared to other areas inland.

Eastern Washington guy was probably Del Kramer. Great book.

Yeah, that is the one, and I also have Roy Kukendall's Fur Harvesting and Predator Control.

I find that the best books for trappers that have been at it for a while aren’t the ones that don’t delve too much into set making, more on k9 habits during different times of the year and why they make certain types sets where they do. If you understand the coyote or wolf, you don’t really need a book. On the other hand, Morly Smith of Alberta with 722 wolves under his belt said that you never stop learning. You’re a master for years and think you got em figured out, then a yearling makes a fool of you…lol.
If they’re books on desert trapping, I don’t mind as long as it’s not packed full of info on how to bed a trap. That’s where the biology book on wolves I picked up was a huge learning tool. It also showed how little we know about them, and how a lot of knowledge is theory or speculation, the author puts an asterisk beside unproven info……which is great.

Great suggestions also get Ray Alcorn /Boddicker's "Coyote Man" book.
