Anyone ever had partial Knee replacement surgery?? I have to have it done next month. I had a scope first and they deemed I would benefit from just a partial knee replacement as the other areas of my knee are in great shape?

I have been told that after two weeks, I could begin to drive and go about my life, also if they open it up and there is more damage they will immediately switch to a full knee replacement. It is a same day surgery with physical therapy beginning 48 hours after the surgery. Thanks for any information.

The partial is better for me as I am 54 years old and they claimed this would buy me another 10 years or more before, I would have to have a full knee replacement possibly. I am hoping to be able to trap by December.

Can't help you with a partial, I was unaware it was a thing...but seems like you'll need 2 operations within 10 years maybe, so not sure that's a selling point....
And you may have to get a full replacement anyway if there's more damage than they thought...

That said a single knee replacement is not a big deal, you'll be up and about in 6-8 weeks and you'll be done with that knee.

Make sure to go to a dentist to have your teeth checked, There is an extreme risk of infection from bad teeth. I get a knee job in a month or so and had to have ALL my teeth pulled.

I have to go to dentist, have my family doctor sign off, have EKG, Chest Xray, Labs and attend a joint replacement class this month.

Ya, I had a partial but it only lasted 3 years before I needed a full. In my case, I should have had a full right off the bat!
