They say the brain is very strange and when injured, odd things can happen. For instance, I have a hard time talking and saying the words I'm thinking but, I can sing the words clearly and without any problems. I think it may have helped my shooting. I've been hitting everything I've been shooting at since my stroke. I hit 93 out of 100 shooting trap last Saturday. I have not missed a red squirrel or a groundhog yet this summer. In fact, I took out two groundhogs this morning in my back field. One at about 130 yards and one at 140 yards both at the same time. The second one was dumb enough to stop and look around for a second. Both of them were shot in the ear. I hope I can start shooting my bow again. I would like to see if there is much difference.

That's great news, and very interesting.

My buddy had a stroke in his early 20's. He was the same way he couldn't talk to me but driving listening to the radio he could sing every song.

People who have a stutter can sing perfectly well. Think Mel Tillis.

When part of the brain is damaged, it has the ability to create new neural pathways around the damaged part, which may work better. Other sections of the brain can take over too. There's some degree of overlap in function of different sections of the brain as well.

I had a Bad stroke in 2006. While tubing behind a speed boat 28mph I hit another boats wake went way up came down it caused a disection of my R. carotid artery I stroked and had a 65% brain blockage on one side I lost my Right carotid. I still have a 20% brain blockage that never dissipated.
Specialist told me after my last Mri
"There's no earthly reason You should be out of a wheelchair & talking"

I am able to see pictures and build things I could never do that before

Sounds to me like you just need to let your shootin do your talkin. At least until you reach the point where you get back to talkin the way you used to.
Too much shootin can get messy and too time consuming with all the shovelling and whatnot.
