So death of this airman was only a week ago. If I understand story correctly, weapon discharged while in the holster. Since then, plenty of guys have been able to get their P320 to do the same just by wiggling the slide back and forth. As big of a flaw as it seems to be, hard to believe things got this far before it was discovered......unless some change has been made since it was adopted and issue only affects a certain few. But as for Sig.......if their position is "who you gonna believe.......me or your lying eyes", if the condition can be duplicated at will.......they in big trouble.

That by itself is bad enough, but that will also invite scrutiny into procurement process. If that was rigged, that has potential to be 100X worse. In short run, bad for them and all involved. In long run, may be a good thing if they all fry and that discourages same thing from happening going forward.

Full disclosure. I was once the beneficiary of a rigged government bid. Lowest bidders were taking the money, but not getting it done. So they rewrote bid specs to eliminate all but a couple guys. If you want to get your eyes opened sometime, get yourself qualified to bid on government contracts. The process of getting registered alone is a total joke, let alone the bidding process. There is a whole industry dedicated to nothing but getting government contracts. The whole thing is tawdry and obscene. DOGE bunch didn't even scratch the surface.

Well, it only took a couple discharges to do Remington in. (Hippie's statement.)

Hippie, discharges didn't sink Remington. Two consecutive investment banker purchases of the company caused the bankruptcy situation.

Remington was NEVER found criminal for any accidental discharge. Punitive (sympathy) money yes, but no mechanical fault. M/600 or M/700.

I worked right down the hallway from our #1 expert witness that delt with any case that went to court. Huge percentage were settled out of court.
