We are doing a pack in hunt this fall. Have never used one of these type cookers before. Is one brand better than the others? For the ones that used them, what do you like. Also far as fuel usage, say coffee and 2 meals a day. How long will one last. Thank you

The canisters for each very do how long they last will vary. For just quick boiling water got coffee or oatmeal, even the small sized ones last at least a week.

I have a biolite stove for when Im camping near woods as it burns sticks. Little harder to get a fire started and you do have to keep an eye on it when the fire burns low. You can charge any USB device with it too

This is what the canister that fits in the Jetboil says. You are able to weigh them to see what they have left for fuel. Might be something to try before you go. 200g full. 100g empty. I like it well enough. You essentially want to pair this with freeze dried meals. They do have pans and other accessories but boiling water is their one trick. You can definitely pack a lot of cals per weight this way. The instant coffee variety is also good with this if you’re tryin to keep your weight way down.

I have buddies in the industry testing stuff all the time. IMO they are all pretty similar.

Another good thing to have with this is a dromedary like the MSR variety. Its light weight, fill it with a water filter, and you’re not lugging water around. I have the 6L and 10L

That said if its cold enough i like to have some “real” food to offset the freeze dried stuff. Sandwiches for lunch every day. Or something i really like is pre made breakfast burritos wrapped in tinfoil. They can go on a fie or stove and you dont waste time in the morning prepping much

There are standard sized canisters for the JetBoil or you can get a larger size. The actual size escapes my memory, but my buddy and I used it for a full 4 days and he had plenty to spare. We boiled water for coffee and two daily meals.

SNIPER - which biolite stove do you have? I’ve heard they’re slick.
