I'm here now along with a few dozen other members helping set up tables and such. The road construction Ina PIA but there are signs up to get you to the gate.

I'm about 30 miles from the border. I zipped down to Lancaster yesterday to pick up a bunch of copies of Hoof Beats Of A Wolfer. The officer at the US crossing asked what I was picking up. Then he asked what I trapped mostly. After that, he asked where the wolves were from. I told him most are probably dual citizens coming up from Minnesota as my lines are pretty close, he smiled and says "see ya"....lol.
The Canadian side dinged me $34 CDN pesos duty.

I don't know the history here, but you should go down anyway. We could look for #44s and fight over em.

Packed and ready to leave in the morning ! Bought groceries yesterday because if our Camp excels at anything it’s stellar meals. Reuben’s, Cheese Steaks , Smoked Brisket , Pulled Pork, Smash Burgers !

Buttermilk French toast, real Maple syrup, About 11 flavors of Bacon and rumor has it this year we get homemade donuts !

Bonus is nobody gets drunk and develops sensitivity issues !

And Trapper Les is bringing a Thesaurus to teach us big words.

I'm stocking up on groceries tomorrow.

Can't hardly beat ruebens with home made kraut.

One of these years spike and I are bringing the smokers and we are going to really live it up.

Les is bringing the Winnipeg rye and his lady friend.

It's worth the trip just to be in the aura of Les's Greek God stature

You're going to have fun. Make sure you check out some demos, there is a lot of knowledge to be had for free. I'll be walking around with a couple young kids, probably wearing bibs, big guy with a short scruffy beard. If you see me come say hi, and if you have any questions, I can try to answer them for you.

You’ve got a lot of trappers around that can really stack up the fur. The MN convention is huge. Some good deals on used gear too, they’ll help you out.

The President and I didn't see eye to eye a few years back so I surrendered my life membership and severed all ties with the MTA. End of story and I will show my support elsewhere.

I plan to be there on Thursday to see the sights and do some shopping and "BS" ing with old acquaintances.

Without the MTA I doubt we would still be trapping the way we do.

The only thing I miss about the old days other than higher attendance is camp furshed. Dusty and the gang had a lot of fun.

I used to be a fixture there, running my butt off to help. Had lots of fun, but some of the cool kids died, some left because of the many controversies, and soon, without the good ol boys, it was not much fun any more. Now it feels like a bunch of strangers, looking for a way to fleece you out of your skin.

I sure do miss good old Gabby and Maddog, and Cory and Arnie, and Carl, and so many more. Some gone forever, some gone from the MTA, and some rarely around.

Mark K many a convention has come and gone ,many put in time and worked and ran so they could be good and I had a good deal of fun and helped out also, miss going, met many good people over many years time flies buy,To all that are there have a good rondy.

Generations change, but that is not the problem. It used to feel like family. Now it feels like strangers. Except for our regional shindigs which I rarely get to.

Was set up about right in the middle in front of the horse barn. The group next to us had all the minnow traps.
