I reckon anybody can but I would prefer a fellow believer to perform such a task.

even the Catholics recognize , baptism may be performed by any other believer who has already been baptized.

baptism and last rights are only sacraments not needing a priest.

that way if your in your small remote village and a priest won't be around for days or weeks you can take care of birth and death

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I agree. It's doubtful a non-believer would want to.

We are living in a world where the intelligent must be quiet so that the no common sense people won't be offended.

But it's a public declaration so it's not something you and a buddy do in private, IMO.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

what denomination? I grew up methodist, was baptized in the methodist church, I now attend a baptist church,, the method used in the methodist church, is not acceptable to join a baptist church and I have a problem with that. A baptism should not have rules attached, the guy who is sprinkled in the name of the trinity believes just as much as the guy who is dunked.

Were you sprinkled as a infant? I could see where Baptist would have issue with that..

As a baptist of the definite Sola Sciptura bent, I find zero scriptural authority for paedobaptism or baptism by sprinkle. Scripture clearly defines credobaptism, adult baptism of repentance, and clearly describes baptism via immersion.

Now that said, I would not refuse fellowship to a brother that has met the requirement of repentance and acceptance of Christ as Lord. Afterall the thief on the cross entered into heaven.

BTW, using the same example I believe there should be no issue with sprinkling for those unable to be immersed. Though as a believer I do believe we are duty bound to follow our Savior's baptism example to the utmost of our ability.

Didn't say that. But what objection do you have doing as our Savior did?

Immersion makes sense as being born again, coming out of water as you did when you were in the womb.

none other than I did as I knew at the time was the way to give my heart to the savior, then when all heck broke loose inn the methodist church and I switched to another church, all of a sudden I can't join that church because I am not baptized in the proper manor. Seems to me like a government telling me I have to do it like this to ensure my salvation. never read that in the bible!
