I got out my old wall tent and set it up prior to my next week trip to the wolf summit and the following week to Coyote Days. My old friend and trapping partner is going with me so I thought the old tent would be better than my back packing tent.

30+ years ago a friend and fellow trapper had decided to co the camper route after years of tent camping. I told him I’d like to buy his tent if he wanted to sell it. He sold it to me for a dollar. I’ve lost track of all the trips it’s been on but it’s been a bunch. Fishing trips in Washington and Alaska, elk hunting trips, moose hunting, caribou hunting and numerous WSTA rendezvous. A lot of good memories in it. My wife put a new zipper in about 12 years ago and I treated it four years ago. It’s probably good for another 30 years.

Love those old tents, a little hard to set up, but well worth it!

We had a tent just like that for years. Every weekend in the summer mom would pack up us boys, food and the tent and head to Bear Lake in NY. We had a permanent tent site. We would set up tent and camp and Dad would come after work. Did that for 15 years. The picture of your tent sure brought back a flood of good memories.....Thanks

Glad to hear you're going to make it to the Wolfer Summit. I will be there, one of these days I will make Coyote Days, but it won't be this year.

I’ll be driving a red 2004 Toyota Tacoma with a black canopy.

I use to live in one when I was a kid on our farm. I set it up on a ridge on top of our cow pasture at that time. Once school was out for the year I would rough it my tent. Mom and dad thought it wouldnt last long me living out doors. I guess those times were the writing on the wall as to what was to become of my life. One summer a wild steer that we had at that time ripped the wall out of my tent on one side with his horns.

Had to find an old shoe maker that could sew it up for me. I had to move back into the house for a while until it was repaired.
