The last two days the smoke has been thick down here in WI. The whole state is under Unhealthy to Hazardous to be outside warnings. When you walk outside you can smell it and if you have been out in it for several hours you can feel it on the back of your throat. Anyone else having this problem?

I guess I’m just used to it…. It’s funny when our stores guy tells us smokers to move 30’ from the open garage door as our smoke is wafting in. “Dale! Have you looked around outside lately?”……lol

Don’t you Canucks know this is causing even more climate change!! lol. This is exactly the type of stuff why all the studies and crackpot funded “scientists” can go pound sand. Mother Nature can do more in a decade of fires and volcanic eruptions than mankind has done since we invented the wheel…. In reference to the post, it seemed worse here a month ago, but my sinuses are a mess for sure.

Yeah, it was nice and cool outside last night but we didn't want to fill the house up with smoke so we left the air conditioner on and the windows closed. This is not only causing health issues but it is also costing us money. If the canadian govt was at least trying to put out the fire it would be a little easier to put up with. The fact they don't care really is a crime.

Which fire? lol Heck my province alone has 60 different ones burning right now , the biggest of them are about 1.5 million hectares and 300 military personnel have been added to the many firefighter numbers this week. We’re boreal forest under extreme drought with dried up rivers and creeks and less than 2” rain on the whole year. You have no knowledge of what you speak, none whatsoever.

Is it that dry in Canada that they're having so many fires? About the only thing good about fires is that it does kill wood ticks.
We are living in a world where the intelligent must be quiet so that the no common sense people won't be offended.

Saskatchewan, the land of 100 000 lakes is extremely dry in the boreal forest region. There are other parts of the province that have had adequate moisture but the area I live in (close to a bunch of the fires) is disastrously dry. Hay production is about 1/4 what it normally is, rivers are running nearly dry, many crops will be insured and simply baled for livestock feed, ranchers are running out of water in dugouts and sloughs. I have a 2 acre lawn, I have not turned a wheel on my mower since late June, it’s brown, it’s done. Normally I cut it at least twice a week. So yes, it indeed that dry in some parts.

Retired now, but I fought wildland fire for 54 seasons.
I love the smell of smoke... smells like Overtime to me!
Pete I agree. Lol but I guess you have to be a firefighter! Extremely dry in lots of areas in Saskatchewan as stated above. Places where I trapped muskrats with culverts that were lakes 10 feet deep a few years ago are now seeded and have crops in them. Been about 5 years of low water or none where I’m at. Muskrats have disappeared but had a good run for 20 some years

Thanks for enlightening me. Assuming the canadian govt does care how much smoke comes across the border makes it slightly more bearable.
