Without a makers mark it could have been made by one of many blacksmiths.. Looks like a spring has been replaced and a later chain added...
I'ld have bought it just for the chain!

Not sure, I wouldn't like the chain being attached to the dog post like that. You hook onto an animal with some snort and he is going to bend that and you won't be able to set it for a remake without bending it back. I've not seen that chain attachment position before. The jaw attachment looks like a copy of the Newhouse design, while the pan is bolted to the pan post so that pan tension can be adjusted, then the bent up, pointed crosspiece opposite the dog. That is a combination of features that I can't say I recall seeing in one trap before.

Seeing pictures of the spring eyes will be able to tell more if it is hand forged or a very early time manufactured trap.

I would have to agree with Dale on the trap. With last pictures it looks like the spring or springs were not hand forged. If they were it was a very nice job done. There were some very good black smiths in the day. Looking at the rest of the trap would lean towards it being hand forged though.
