Just look at the pro gun Republicans. They only put pro gun stuff forward when they know it won't pass or they chose not to push it. when they know it won't pass the push it so thay can say we'll we third bu those gems stoped up. Maybe next time we can get it.

If you don't think you have a say in the system you get revolt and revolution. To avoid this they play the game we are watching.

Yes they are.

I am very much aware of absentee ballots. I’ve voted that way for the past eleven (11) years.

Just so everyone understands difference between vote by mail and absentee voting. States like CA have universal vote by mail. They put a live ballot in US mail to each and every voter they have registered in the system if you asked for it or not. That means 100% ballot float in the public domain. Legal votes, illegal voters, real person or not, dead or alive......if they are registered, they are sent a ballot. If person moved.........or is no longer around or alive.......ballot can't be delivered, it goes into a black hole. College dorms and apartments alone get thousands of ballots for which there no longer remains a voter to receive them. They also allow ballot harvesting. In 2020, guy pulled into a C-Store and went inside.........others in parking lot noticed his entire back seat was piled full to the windows with vote by mail ballots. Thousands of them. Called the cops.......who investigated and concluded he was doing nothing wrong and sent him on his way. He had harvested ballots and that was legal in CA. So no chain of custody......and no telling what he did with them when he left. And that was just one guy on one day.

There was also the issue in CA where a bunch of illegals were sent jury duty notices..........to which they responded they did not have to appear as they were NOT US citizens. So where did jury pool names come from? Voter rolls.

Not all states have universal vote by mail like that, but almost all of them allow voters to request a vote by mail ballot. Not absentee........vote by mail. A lot of people like it cause it's easy.......and the election fraud guys bank on a lot of people going along with the scam cause some voters like it cause it's easy. That opens the door to allow them to pull all kinds of stunts in the shadows and away from scrutiny.

Vote by mail........no way to run an election......at least a free, fair and honest one.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

I would prefer we only let tax paying landowners vote. And only after they pass a civics test.

In person.

Wow.!!!! Why not go one step further and say “ only male tax paying landowners”. That would keep a lot of the unworthy people from voting. Just like in the “good old days”!!

In principle, those with skin in the game. I would at one time agreed, however we all got skin in the game when you realize that the landowners have rigged the game to win all the land and none of the taxes.

I would argue anyone subject to taxes get to vote, right down to sales taxes, adminstractive fees, court costs, licensures, state, city, and occupation taxes, gas and oil taxes.

I would further argue that those least impacted by taxes as a percentage of personal wealth might not need to be voting. Just saying, afterall don't they get "extra" votes with the PACs.

BC forgets that at the time of our founding with only white landowners voting, no one was getting taxed land was there for the taking and zoning hadn't been invented.

I agree with the civics test.

I used to tend to agree on the landowner thing as well, but my thoughts on that have changed. The reason is, because these days especially, a lot of very successful businessmen (and women) choose to live in apartments simply due to where they work. Not too easy to be a landowner in NYC for a young, up and coming investment banker on Wall Street. To own land they would likely need to find a place outside of the city and then deal with a lengthy commute. Much easier to just rent an apartment a block or two from work. I don't think people like that should be denied the right to vote just because they rent instead of own.

I think a better alternative would be denying the vote to those that take part in certain government handouts such as TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, Title 19, etc.

HayDay, I do agree with what you stated but mail in is just one part of the problem...

The problem is that no one was verifying signatures on the mail in the ballots, so they all got thrown in the 'good enough' pile and counted.

The problem is that no one was verifying signatures on the mail in the ballots, so they all got thrown in the 'good enough' pile and counted.

This is true to a point. We first learned about signature match and how it was the ONLY security measure built into vote by mail ballots. That was in NV in 2020, when they used a machine to do the signature match. Compare the signature on the ballot envelop to signature on file. Rejection rate running close to 40% or more. So they dumbed it down and were still getting rejections,.......so they eventually turned it off. No signature verification. They counted all kinds of ballots in AZ in 2022 with signatures that didn't match, plus ballots with NO signature at all.

But this is treating the symptom, not the problem. Like airing up a tire that keeps going flat. What if the name on the voter roll isn't even a real person to begin with? Or was a real person but moved? One of the reason the signatures on ballots didn't match in NV was the people they sent them to had moved. People who had been living in Las Vegas moved back to CA, were no longer voting in NV, yet ballot mailed to them anyway. Somebody not the voter marked it up and returned it. Then we find voter names on the rolls are registered to empty lots, RV lots, addresses that don't exist, etc. No real person at mailbox end, and in some cases, no mailbox at all. Yet live ballot sent there and ends up..........where?

In MI in 2024 they found real people, real valid addresses, only problem is the guy has never voted in his life. He was asked, he didn't register his name, didn't mark up a ballot, yet his name is on the roll and he was mailed a ballot and it was marked up and returned........by somebody........just not him. In MI they found several like that. Most.......not all.......but most of that goes away when the voter has to show up live and in person, with photo ID. Do that and you eliminate most of the fraud. This also means the voter his own self marked up the ballot and also scanned it into the voting machine at time it was marked up. Distance ballot traveled was from election judge to voter's hand. Chain of custody only one link. No need to hire hundreds to open envelopes, verify signatures, scan ballots, and do all the rest, with opportunity to pull some stunt at every step along the way.

And as for all the rest, I'll be happy if they stop there. Real person with valid ID to prove is US Citizen and is a match for registration on voter roll. Not sure we can even get that, let alone all the other.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.
