Was heading to do some work with my two older boys, and George yells "FREE WRENCH!". I feel bad for the fellow that lost it, but the boys will enjoy it being added to their tool set. We found a bunch of useful things on the road over the years. You guys ever find anything cool? [Linked Image]

I've picked up several things from the road over the years, Friday night at work I was going to our other warehouse and the headlights kept hitting something shiny on the road so when I caught up and there was no traffic I stopped and picked up a 3/4 " socket. I've picked up a couple of nice hooded sweatshirts. I got a 24 quart cooler off the side of the road once. No cracks in it. Got a case of heavy duty shop towels once, a lone crutch. (Bet they missed that). And I've gotten a few tools as well.

Only stuff I ever find is laying where I forgot it the previous days trapcheck. Usually a trap or stake. I blame it on being on the north side of 75 years old. Lol

Tools, sockets, coolers on the bay, buckets, a kayak and so on, I rarely stop for tools or bungee cords anymore unless it looks like something special...Once stopped and found boxed meat that fell out of a provisions truck, lol

I've found a bunch of what I call ' roadkill tools ' over the years.

Good tip to all , look closely at any tight little turns like at an intersection , this is the place where most stuff slides off of a vehicle. I'm giving up my best hunting spots.

When I'm on my motorcycle I have an additional edge , being able to stop quickly and snatch something up quick before more traffic comes along.

Dewalt impact drill. An empty tool box. A few tools.

Found a purse with $300 and every piece of information the lady had, from license to SS card to library card. Returned it to her a couple days later when she got back from vacation. She was a basket case for a couple days, and she should have been. She was a parole officer and she lost it after getting gas just outside a sketchy part of town, on their way north. She left it on the trunk of her car.

Best find yet was a Dbl barrel Beretta 12 ga O/U. Alcohol involved. It was returned to the firefighter from Aurora CO.

Once driving home from some where on a busy road, the small truck two cars in front of me had his tailgate down and I noticed two orange tool boxes moving back out of the bed through all the bump in traveling, I knew he was going to lose them is a short while !!

I got to be right behind him and at a light as well he hit the gun he turned and both boxes came out and landed and rolled up the to the corner, I stopped and threw them in my jeep and raced to catch up with him, but no way I was going to, so went home and opened them to see if there was any ID to call, nothing, one box was all plumbing stuff, the other all electrical, with a nice battery volte meter, very nice haul for me, still have them after ten years or so !!

Still watch for open tail gates !!
