Went there again last week and she recognized me so she dumped me off to a newer waitress. The newer waitress did a great job and the tip reflected that. I hope the nasty one found out. Either way I feel like they both got what they deserved. Tipping should be subjective depending on service. I always try to tip in cash but I usually check with the waitress to see what they prefer. Sometimes cash matters ,sometimes not.

Wonder if the menu stated that you would be charged for sharing, lots of places do that and it is not the servers just adding a charge for fun.

No the menu did not say there was a charge nor did the waitress inform me there would be when we ordered. I rarely split plates but rather than order two dishes and no appetizer that is what we chose to do.

Two different meals- If service is equal, why should a tip be more just because the food cost more?

Put a tip on your card and most will never see the waiter or waitress

As of late, I've started to use the "cash back" option when I shop at the same grocery store I've been using for the past, almost , ten years. On the days they're really busy and they're all hustling and moving, I'll just slide that $10 right back to them. Absolutely makes their day as it's so unexpected. Just acknowledging good service while giving them a morale boost.

Same here. I usually give 20% of the total bill, more if they are exceptional.
