Well, I finally bit the bullet and took a big step towards becoming a professional trapper, and bought my first trapping rig.

It's a 2005 Polaris Ranger 700 XP. Bought it off of Facebook Marketplace earlier this evening, and just parked it in the shed. Before this, I ran my line out of my truck or borrowed my dad's, but this will work a lot better. I mainly trap for some big farmers in my area, so something like this will be perfect for driving through crop fields and on dirt trails. I'm already have some big plans for how I am going to set it up for trapping, and I will be sure to post more pics. I am really looking forward to all the ground this will allow me to access, as it will really help me with my FFA project. My goal is to win both state and nationals for Wildlife Management.

If you are curious about following my journey as a young trapper, I encourage you to check out my Facebook Page, Anderson Varmint Trapping. I just started it, and I post regularly. I would really appreciate any and all support for it!

You oughta start one post on here about your trapping adventures and update it like you do your facebook page. Just keep it all in one thread... so those without Facebook can follow along too.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

Nice! Build yourself a little trailer or find a used one. I just checkout out your page and I see it’s a side by side……even better! I thought it was a quad.
Careful when driving on crops. That’s a no-go around here. Sometimes it’s not fun, but I can usually hug the edge.

Congratulations on your purchase. I have a 2009 700XP and it has been a solid machine for me. Nice way to cover a lot of ground in varying conditions without rutting up driveways or fields.

Good luck with your goals!

Dave

Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping.
May I be half the man he was.

Great job! Now think and re-think on your strategies for each property before things start up. Oh and get ready for Ma' Nature to step in and mess up your plans with her weather.
Have a back up plan....good luck.
