Hello,
Wondering if any Red Fox trappers target them with #2 longsprings? I am a longspring user, but also humoring using #2 or 1.75 Victor FOJ traps instead as we have coyotes, but prefer to use what I have, hoping the larger volume fox trappers can provide input. Thanks

They should work. The only thing I have noticed with long springs and fragile footed critters you're going to get more foot damage with a long spring trap.

That's my standard fox trap, not that I have a lot of fox to chase. I've had good luck with mine.

They will work good, but like what was said, you will get more foot damage, especially with a gray fox. But if you aren't keeping them for the live market use them. I would just make sure swivel the chain midway and that the trigger breaks clean, not sloppy. #11's and single spring 1.5's work good too.

I don't know what it is, but the last couple of post about using long springs is firing me up about the upcoming season. Something about seeing a critter in a long spring that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy like.

I caught a lot of my first critters with that trap. Just add a couple of swivels to them. That will help a bit.
