I'm no expert but I also have trees to plant and have done my research and asking the pros in the business. They all and what I have read is to wait till late August to plant. Labor day is the day most say is a perfect time to plant. So, I will take their advice and wait to shed a few more weeks of extreme heat to plant. I have easy access to water but still I'm going to wait to plant.

Down here planting season is dec-jan. With hardwoods you want a propper hole and the roots spread out and not bent.

Mid Sept. Time for them to spread roots, cooler days, more rain

According to those that know way more than I do, trees start their journey to dormancy in mid August. At least, up where we are at. So I think the Labor Day guideline is good. However, I would time it with a good rain so you know the roots will establish and not dry out before the snow comes.
