Went to check groundhog traps this morning I have in the lean to on the barn and after I was Done heard something taking off behind me to see a fawn hitting the after burners. It looked like it came from uo by my tractor.

Later this afternoon my 15 year old went to check them again and it was back. He was more observant then I was and got a Picture befor it took off [Linked Image]

he aid it had a limp when it left..

I found it strange it came back after running for it's life. so far no momma around. I had been seeing a fawn and doe a few hundred years down at the end of the woods from the barn. I thought about it and thought maybe something happened to mom? Made a cool picture though.

I have them laying around my place all the time this time of year. In my driveway, under the the bushes and trees, along our back deck. They feel at home, no one harasses them so I guess they feel comfortable being close to the house and buildings.

Looks like a comfortable spot. Seems the fawn didn’t find any danger and thought it would come back to the shade and relax.

Add it to the freezer when the season opens.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Gordon Ramsey, maybe…

If it has a limp may have been injured by a car or something. Found a safe place and is choosing to stay.

Went to check groundhog trap and a snare this morning and saw the fawn was back. I saw a c clamp i had as a snair support was in place and nit knocked over and backed out clearly no catch. . If anything was in the body grip it's dead and can wait.

That's is 2 time it was spoked off and came back. It stayed laying down and didn't run off this morning. I'm hald expecting to find it up there starved to death In a week If something has happened to it's mother.
