We need more energy. In Oklahoma, for example, companies are trying to build data centers and those data centers consume a lot of energy. Our electric providers do not have enough juice.
I don't love the look of wind farms and definitely don't love the tax credits, but, again, we need more energy. We are not being very conservative today. Let the free market supply it at free market prices; not the Federal government so some consumers get electricity at subsidized prices.

Its funny how the focus has changed to power for data centers and away from the endless line of electric cars. Maybe that plan got scrapped too, but I doubt it. This country is one big subsidized economy. Fortunately the U.S. is not socialist .

Doesn’t seem to be a problem for many of you that it takes tax payer subsidies to keep ethical in production. Only seems to matter who getting them.

Wind is not sustainable even with subsidies if they factor in environmental impacts and disposal.
Just not viable long term with current technology being used.

Along with all the other problems, big rub with wind and solar is the line loss. Wind blows and sun shines in low population areas........so amount of power that finally arrives at far off population centers is far less than what started at windy end. Like a bucket with a hole in it. If you have to carry it very far, you won't get there with much. Plus wind and sun are intermitant........so supplement vs. primary. Only green source that ever made sense to me is hydroelectric. Gravity works......you just have to find a way to accumulate enough water to be feasible. Missouri's Osage river reservoirs might do better if they were to build a few hundred thousand 10 to 20 acre retention lakes in the upper watershed. Keep them full, only draw down when you need make up water. Power and recreation. To me, makes more sense than the pump back features that never get used.
