Just got home and my six year old came running up screaming. I'm told he spent hours hunting down this trophy buck grasshopper with his crossbow. [Linked Image]

Thats fantastic! Are you thinking a European mount or a full body?

I have nothing clever to put here.

I regret to inform you 160, that the grasshopper has been fed to my wife's pet lizard. Didn't even get to take the backstraps off first.

Maybe go to Wally World in fishing department and pick out a replica for his mount.

Moosetrot, I'm trying my best. Yotetrapper, glad you like it. The older brother was patrolling when I was mowing last week and collected a trophy of his own. I'm waiting the 60 days to measure before I make any Pope and Young claims. [Linked Image]

Drifter, that's a good idea. 160, you try judging the trophy potential of a vole when it's on the run, in the brush, at fifty four paces. Mistakes were made but he's proud of his trophy.

I case-skinned, fleshed, and made a board for my son's first Gopher with his pellet gun when he was around 7. A real trophy, and we still have it.

Keep 'em excited, Big Sam! Every minute you spend with them will pay off big time in the future.

Remember, they are the ones that will get to pick your nursing home.
