Any of you on the bigger rivers fish these ship docks ? If so how do you go about it ? Never have much luck but the current is always kinda heavy. Usually full of long jams and you figure they would hold fish but idk 90% of the time the current bounces a 5oz flat weight like nothing so can never keep bait in place

I don't know about a river that big, but smaller rivers the current break on the downstrean side of the piers hold fish.

Once you see them.loaded with barnacles, run a hoe up and down one for chum, rig up, and catch sheepshead

Grain docks are magnets for everything that swims. Docked barges are a source of shade on hot days. Passing towboats or shifting barges kick up stuff and can trigger the bite.

Solid advice

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Gordon Ramsey, maybe…

It seems like anywhere bright lights from the docks hits the water at night should be a good place to fish.

Good friend of my grand dad kept a flat hoe in his boat just for that. Mr Brewer loved catching sheephead, grand dad would rather drift a shrimp under a bobber over the grass flats for specks.
