That's correct, it's red baneberry. It's also called red cohosh. The whole plant is medicinal.
Keith You spelled poisonous incorrectly. I think all medicinal plants are toxic. I think all manufactured pharmaceuticals are toxic too. That's why they work. It's critical to use both correctly. There's a huge difference between edible and medicinal "Medicinal use of Red Baneberry: The whole plant, but especially the root, is analgesic, antirheumatic, galactogogue and rubefacient. The plant was often used medicinally by North American Indian tribes, though modern users should be aware of the plants potential toxicity. A tea made from the root is used as an appetizer, in the treatment of stomach pains, coughs, colds, menstrual irregularities, post partum pains, to increase milk flow and as a purgative after childbirth. Great caution should be employed if using this plant internally, the rootstock is a violent purgative, irritant and emetic." https://naturalmedicinalherbs.net/herbs/a/actaea-rubra=red-baneberry.phpKeith

Red baneberry or dolls eyes,, extremely poisonous. But, it’s a good marker plant,,, if you find this plant you are in the same conditions as ginseng. Dolls eyes are a pretty cool looking plant in the fall… because they turn a blue color and the ends are jet black which do indeed look like dolls eyes.

You've got 3 different plants all lumped together. Red baneberry (Actaea rubra) stay red, no change in color, they like a little wetter ground than the white Bane berry. Doll's eyes are white Baneberry (,Actaea pachypoda) the berries are white with a small black dot and they stay white. The berries that turn blue are most likely Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) Red and white bane berry are hard to tell apart, berries are dead give away. Blue Cohosh has different shaped leaves, kinda like a hand with three fingers. Google them and see if you don't agree.
