Yes, they did, for about 2 weeks… they were neck and neck with Detroit,, Detroit fell off a bit, which gave the cubs the best record, temporarily… but they did hold the position for second and third best team in the league for months.

June 18th the Cubs were 6.5 games ahead of the Brewers. After tonight they are 7 behind or more. I think with todays tech and all the recording and statistics that teams have found the weak swing areas of the hard swinging, free swingers and that may continue until they work on improving their swing patterns and or their zone coverage. The Brewers have a ton of young players (2nd youngest team in the MLB) and they are gaining experience with each at bat and game. Hope our pitching staff stays healty. Always a concern when you have that many high velocity arms.
