matters to me... If y'all said "not that one, the other one!" I would buy the other one... Just because I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I figured I'd take it up with you guys. But it appears y'all think both guns are just as good as the other.

Both are fine guns, it's your choice, just remember if long range shooting, the bolt action is more accurate .

It’s his opinion.

Yes, yes I have.

A qualified rifleman can probably use most any type of action. Not many would select a lever action, but yes. They use semiautomatic and bolt action primarily. Most use a bolt action because it was the lowest bidder for the contract and that is what was selected for them.

They may select a bolt action, not because it is more accurate. But there is less of a chance of a malfunction with a bolt action vs a semi automatic.
You have a higher rate of fire with a semiautomatic. It’s a trade off, but either can be utilized.

Guaranteed a proficient shooter would do better than an average to mediocre shooter, no matter the platform utilized.

Get them in different calibers and use them for different tasks.

I say get both.

I see the links and they are both .22LR, you can’t go wrong with either. I like the lever action personally, but have used bolt action and it’s nice. Bolt action is awesome if you are going to add a suppressor.

I say look at a semi-automatic also.

I still say get both. Yeah, go with both and let us know since it will be your firearm.

Don't know where you got that information, but ever since a bolt action was invented , it's been used as a sniper rifle.
Short range not sure, but a real sniper wouldn't use anything but a bolt action.
True a sniper could use any rifle, but the fact remains the bolt action is far more accurate.

Yes. They list bolt action and semi automatic rifles.

lol.

Savage Axis is a great rifle. I did a tour of their factory and they build an outstanding rifle.

You are a young man. You will be ahead of the game by starting off with a lever gun with iron sights. Once you master the skill set of iron sights for hitting a fly in the eye out of the sky, you will be more than ready to transition to the bolt guns later on after once you have more money to spend.
BTW, shooting flies in the eye is just fine. Just don't try to shoot them out of the sky. You'll put someone's eye out.
