I have a pair of them, just used them on a trip to Iceland. They can be packed in a suitcase. Here at home I use a solid hickory staff. Helps stabilize a person in rough slippery terrain

Find you some old guy (or maybe a middle aged one) that makes them and spend some money with them.

I had a friend that made them, never got me one before Covid got him.

I just cut mine in the woods, cost was $0.00. Have had it since 2002. Use it to bop trapped critters on the head as well as fishing colony traps out of the water.

Good sticks for walking, adjustable for length pack easy to transport, And if you remove the rubber tip there may be a metal ice tip under it, A thumbs up for them.

my knee was bothering me last fall so I ended up with a walking stick a bunch , never had a problem finding one in the woods I would generally leave it where I came out I didn't really want to be carrying anything extra but when you are up and down over a field of blow downs and such it did help.

it was my Gandalf stick , although his beard was a touch longer than mine but not a lot.
