Not buying it. 140 by snakes per day?? Lots of questionable ones there.

My thought also.

A lot of nasty snakes out there.

Looked around the numbers I found on a search was much higher than 140 per day.

I can definitely believe that, here in the US we don’t really consider snake bite all that dangerous anymore because in most cases people aren’t all hat far from medical care and except for rare occasions the poison is not all that fast acting but other places get snake bit and it’s so fast acting that even if your near medical help the victim is so far gone it to late, the various Mambas, Cobras, Taipans and vipers I bet would account for the vast majority of those deaths

And in a lot of places their very common, when I lived in Thailand cobras were a fairly common sight in the area I was living along with banded Kraits while snake bite death there is fairly uncommon there are about 12/15000 bites a year and officially about 20/30 of those are fatal but then even small village clinics stock anti venom

Those kraits were everywhere and I bet most of those yearly bites were from them it was kind of like some of the souther trappers who talk about copperheads when summer beaver trapping, it wasn’t bad during the day when you could see them but at night you definitely didn’t want to walk around at night without a light, we lived in a small village but those snakes would come in from the farm fields at night looking for mice and rats ect
