Having to clear fallen ash trees from tree stand trails. I used pyrethrin the day before and figured it was still good to go on same clothes and shoes. Neighbor girl helped drag and she used deet and barely got any.

Oh, I am thankful, its just not been revealed why yet, lol.

Are you saying the permethrin caused those red bumps? I use permethrin all the time on my clothes and have never had any reaction cutting wood in the woods. It works great keeping the ticks away.

My new car has a button for pretty much everything. Even has one that says rear wiper. Still too afraid to try that one.

Chiggers?

We have them like crazy this year. Earlier was worse than now. Been spraying our yard with hose-applied Cutters. When we do get bites we treat them with roll-on Equate Odor-Free Lidocaine Pain Relief Cream from Walmart. Rally takes away the itch and seem to help a little with healing. It is sold in the vicinity of the arthritis pain relief products.

No not at all. Sorry I was being so vague, I needed to scratch, lol. It was clearly turkey mites by the lines they made moving from one spot to the next.

And J Staton don't be so naive to think they didn't go north, I just didn't think pictures would be appropriate for this site. Especially for those that are a little squeamish about trappers feet, lol !

From what I've read, I don't think we have them this far north.

Had a grandson over for a few days about a week ago.
Second day, he says, "I had to put some lotion on my butt."
????
"My feet too."
Yup, chiggers.
I got a handful around ankles, few up to knees.
Him and my wife got ate up.

Well the experts say they are tiny larvae of the lone star tick. All those trails of bumps can be just one moving from spot to spot and eating from the top layer of skin and they leave a protein that one is allergic to causing the red itchy spots.
Out of desperation I took 2 benadryl and shut my bladder down for 5 hours on top of the itching. I used to take a lot of benadryl to make me sleep, but I guess getting older my bladder is not as elastic as it used to be.

I think the pyrethrin that I had applied to my clothes and shoes the day before may have got diluted by the heavy dew in the weeds. The young lady that helped drag brush used a fresh dose of deet and only had a couple spots and really had no complaints other than stinging nettles. It was ironic that I took stinging nettle pills to get my bladder going again, lol.
