My two Sweet 100 plants are really starting to produce. I was feeding the splits to the pup. She looks like she’s wanting some more, sorry girl.

I planted these in mid May as seedlings and started harvesting red ones about the third week of July. So 60–70 days from seedling to ripe fruit.

These take a while too. I just have better luck with these than full-size tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes seem much hardier and more resistant to the typical tomato diseases. they taste good too.

I do love to grow heirloom Brandywines, IMO the best tasting tomato there is. But they are susceptible to blight, blossom end rot, etc.

The cherry tomatoes are pretty much plant and forget until harvest time.

We used to grow spoon tomatoes, they are about the size of a pea. Seemed like it would take a half a day to fill a pail with them.

Those Sweet 100s look good Doug. One nice thing about cherry tomatoes is that if you don't pick them all, usually you get volunteers for many years afterwards.

I need to pick and can peppers. Last time I got a little over 6 gallons, pre slicing and 19 quarts canned. There's a lot more peppers this time. It's miserably hot and humid here today, I may wait until later next week, when it fools off, but my plants are bending over badly. One branch broke off of one of my green peppers a couple of days ago.

I started harvesting grapes yesterday and have been harvesting elderberries every day or two.

I get volunteers in the compost pile and places around the property that don't get mowed all the time.

Giant Super Markets and Sam's Club sells a variety of cherry tomatoes called Flavor Bombs. They're one of the best tasting tomatoes I've had. I wanted to grow them this year but no seedlings were available locally. I'm going to try to start some from seed next year, either seeds I buy or seeds I save from the store-bought tomatoes.

We were told the Sweet 100's were a close second in flavor to the Flavor Bombs. They're good but the Flavor Bombs are better.

Sungold cherry tomatoes are very good too. We sold both Sweet 100 and Sungold cherry tomato plants this year. My partner bought them as plugs for around 6 cents each in West Virginia from Bob's Market and Greenhouses. She way over bought, for what we sold. We are going to lose money on them.

Some of the first tomatoes I grew "here" were Early Cascades, about a 4 oz fruit and an early variety, was a pretty good tomato, I should start growing them again...and not a pain to pick, lol

Our Amish paste did not get as large as usual.

Big Boys and early girls didn't do well this year, but the Amish paste grew out of the 6' cages and tomatoes are the size of softballs. Had to double stake the cages with 2x2's to keep them up
