Who here has converted some double long springs to a dogless firing design? Be curious to see some pictures of those that have. Thinking about some #3s modded up for cats.

I did these last fall. Relatively easy the way I did it. Got a roll pin the right size for the pan bolt, cut it to length to fit in the bridger dogless pan, then figured out where it needed to go for the pan to be level, and welded UNDER the trap frame. Then just cutoff the extra where the trap dog used to be mounted. This was a victor #4dbl and a victor #3 jump

Dogless double longs are the the easiest trap to set, bed, and modify imo.

How are you guys modifying the frame to attach the pans? Using some type of bracket to bolt the pans to? Can you share some pics. Those look great.

Yes I agree would love to see some pics of the pan attachment. We have some #2 I would love to get rid of the floppy pans and use them for cat traps

Here's how I did my longspring, couldn't find the jump in the pile to get pictures of how I did it. This was a little bracket I threw together quick with 2 old trap dogs cut to length, and 2 nuts that were drilled out just big enough to allow the pan bolt to slide through. Now, instead of making a "bracket", I just buy large rolle pins at surplus city that the hole is just the right size for the pan bolt to slide through and cut them to length. Not the best welds as I'm not a welder, but it holds

I make my some of my brackets out of 1/4” tubing. Cut it to fit between pan legs, I drill out the pan leg holes to fit a 1/4 20 bolt, ill then bolt the pan to the tubing and I can then slide it onto frame and set the trap allowing me to adjust pan height to desired position then tac the tubing to the frame. I’ll then fire the trap off and weld the tubing in solid. And on some traps like bridger number 4 double longs I can use just the stock pan post brackets that come on no bs jrs or extremes. You can buy them off no bs just gotta call and ask for them. They are the only place I found that will sale you the brackets and pans.
