Just read its all long the East coast?? Anyone else seeing this??

Not sure if related, but have been seeing coons out during daylight hours. A pair of this year's half grown kits.....about 3 hours before dark. Then triplets. If they lost momma and are fending for themselves, maybe. Then other morning, single adult still out along the road a 9AM on a hot sunny day. Not normal around here.

Mother nature is a cruel mistress. Humans not keeping numbers down thats what happens. Its to bad the disney crowd thinks otherwise.

Killed 21 In my side yard so far. Don't seem to be a lack of them here yet. Haven't noticed any odd behavior

Coons are very gregarious, and any disease will spread like wildfire thru the population.

Easy to recognize when the eyes and nose is crusted over, not pretty.

Rather early for it here. Usually don't see it till October here

We had it last fall and winter. I probably saw 25-30 raccoons of all ages like zombies with puss like discharge.
They would be sitting hunched up not moving, when you came back hours later they were still there.
I saw raccoons in 3 different counties in Eastern NC with it. So far this year l have not seen any.
It also took a toll on our fox population too, l have not seen a red or gray fox in a long time.None since last year.

like Mr Clifton says Mother nature is a cruel mistress indeed each state should offer a bounty there needs to be an annual harvest over population brings disease not to mention the inbreeding that can occur nothing good can come from that

Year we got the farm I found 13 to 15 can't remember now dead around the farm. Figured it was distemper
Started trapping again the next year after a over decade break. After the first year year catch rate declined and has been holding steady several years now.
