Nice. Shoot straight and always remember the four rules of gun safety.

CC If by any chance this is going to be you trap line gun and you are checking traps for a vehicle you will not want a tube magazine. they are hard to load and unload all the time.....Just a cautionary note......jk

You got plenty of time to put a single bullet in when trapping. With a rifle, I prefer shorts. At 5 feet from a rifle they have plenty of velocity. IMO LR has to much from a rifle. Never tried shorts in my henry. If they dont feed just drop one in the chamber.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to use the Henry for the trapline and for small game hunting. If it is deer season when I'm trapping I will be carrying my deer rifle (which has a detachable magazine) and a .22 revolver for taking care of trapped critters so I will not be carrying the Henry. But when it isn't deer season I will be using it. Also I will mostly just be walking and probably there won't be much driving involved, at least for this year

Yes I use shorts for my .22 rifles as well. I use LRs in my pistol though. I have heard that the shorts will work just fine in the Henry
